Start

Adding your first plant

Open your garden, choose Add plant, then select a new or existing plant. Every plant needs its own pet name before you continue.

Care

Tasks and check-ins

Sprout shows care only when it is due. A daily check-in records that you inspected the plant; it does not mean you should water every day.

Reminders

Smart watering reminders

Watering reminders are not sent on a fixed schedule. Sprout evaluates local conditions first and may delay or soften a reminder when your plant is likely drying more slowly.

Alerts

Reminders not arriving

Confirm Care Reminders are enabled in Sprout, then open iOS Settings → Notifications → Sprout and allow notifications.

Scan

Plant identification

Scanning matches a photo against Sprout's eight-species catalog. Confirm the proposed species and stage before starting care tracking.

Sync

Moving to another device

Sign in with the same Apple account. Your private Supabase-backed garden will synchronize after the connection is restored.

Common questions

Quick answers

Why is watering not due today?

Watering follows the species profile, lifecycle, and previously logged care. Always check the actual soil before watering, even when a reminder appears.

Why did my watering reminder not fire?

Sprout evaluates local temperature and humidity before sending a watering reminder. If conditions suggest your plant is drying more slowly than usual, the reminder may be delayed or replaced with a softer soil-check prompt. When this happens, Sprout logs the reason so you can see what it decided and why.

Can I use Sprout without Apple Intelligence?

Yes. Core care schedules and plant growth use Sprout's deterministic care engine. Compatible AI features have a non-generative fallback or remain hidden.

Are my growth photos public?

No. Growth photos are stored in a private cloud bucket linked to your signed-in account. They are shared only when you deliberately use the iOS share sheet.

How does Memory Grove work?

Memory Grove lets you dedicate a plant or tree to a person, place, or moment. Add a photograph, a title, a story, and a location. Public memories appear at their real location on the 3D map; private memories use a clearly marked approximate location to protect your privacy.

How do I delete my information?

Open Settings → Data & Privacy. You can export your data, delete one plant, reset the garden, or permanently delete your Sprout account and cloud data.
